  ABOUT US

Elizabeth Unni, B.Pharm., MBA, Ph.D., and Tyler Rose, Ph.D., teamed up on the I'M HAPPY project as a result of their involvement with the Drug Abuse Awareness Team (DAAT), a student organization at the Roseman University of Health Sciences committed to preventing the misuse and abuse of prescription medications.

   ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Roseman Drug Abuse Awareness Team (DAAT) has been presenting informative and entertaining anti-drug seminars to school-aged children throughout the Salt Lake valley for years. Based on the vision that an interactive, web-based presentation would allow the organization to spread its message more broadly, the I'M HAPPY program was born, with generous funding by an American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation Health Living Grant.

The I'M HAPPY project is a 20-40 minute interactive computer session that kids can complete on their own, as a group, or with guidance from an adult.  It presents information and games on over-the-counter medications, prescription drugs, adverse drug reactions, the importance of proper dosing, and the dangers of addiction.  In the end, students get to make choices that help determine the outcome of a character (Joey) in several animated scenarios.

I'M HAPPY is serious fun!  Students learn essential information that can help them make good choices when it comes to prescription and over-the-counter medicines and have fun at the same time!
